Job Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly inventory control reports, and establish tooling punch criteria to ensure adequate backup tooling is available.
• Analyze tooling-related issues and implement improvement initiatives to minimize machine downtime, enhance cycle time, and improve overall production efficiency.
• Supervise and lead the technical team in carrying out tooling die maintenance while establishing an effective preventive and predictive maintenance system.
• Provide technical support to the production team to achieve targeted productivity, product quality, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize tooling lifespan, particularly for tooling punches and related components.
• Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to support tooling improvements, especially during new tooling development and design stages.
• Interpret technical drawings and utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Pro-E to support tooling design and development activities.
• Conduct First Article (FA) sample evaluations for new product submissions to verify process capability, tooling performance, and machine capability before mass production.
• Develop and recommend effective technical solutions to support production operations whenever required.
• Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews to identify design limitations and drawing specification issues before tooling activation.
• Liaise with customers on technical capabilities throughout the project lifecycle, from initial quotation and bidding until tooling is commissioned.
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development activities while ensuring customer requirements are achieved.
• Review manufacturing processes, conduct cost analysis, and prepare accurate quotations for customers.
• Work closely with the Production and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges and quality issues while meeting customer expectations.
• Collaborate with external vendors throughout the tooling development process, from design until tooling is approved for mass production.
• Manage and control the tooling budget, including new tooling investments and annual tooling maintenance expenditures.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 Years of relevant working experience in tooling, manufacturing, or a similar engineering environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of tooling design, tooling maintenance, manufacturing processes, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Pro-E. Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and First Article (FA) evaluation will be an added advantage.
• Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors.
• Demonstrate leadership capabilities with the ability to supervise technical teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willing to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
• Physically fit to work in a manufacturing environment and capable of performing operational duties when necessary.
• Self-motivated, responsible, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM9,500.00 per month
