About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Email Security & Endpoint Security Engineer to join a growing Cybersecurity team responsible for managing and enhancing enterprise email security and endpoint protection solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering security platforms, strengthening security controls, responding to critical incidents, and driving continuous service improvements. You will work closely with Infrastructure, Security Operations, Business, and Service Delivery teams to ensure the organization’s messaging environment and endpoints remain secure, compliant, and resilient against evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

Email & Endpoint Security Management

• Administer and manage enterprise email security and endpoint protection platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize email security and endpoint security solutions.
• Implement security policies and controls to protect enterprise messaging infrastructure and endpoint devices.
• Perform regular health checks, system maintenance, and security configuration reviews.
• Ensure high availability and optimal performance of security platforms.

Security Operations & Incident Management

• Investigate and resolve priority incidents, security alerts, and service escalations.
• Collaborate with Security Operations Center (SOC) teams during security investigations.
• Support incident response activities involving email threats, malware, phishing, ransomware, and endpoint security events.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure incidents are resolved within agreed service levels.

Security Governance & Risk Management

• Strengthen security controls to reduce operational and cybersecurity risks.
• Support compliance with internal security standards, regulatory requirements, and audit findings.
• Contribute to risk assessments, security reviews, and governance activities.
• Maintain documentation for security controls, operational procedures, and recovery processes.
• Participate in audit activities and remediation planning.

Platform Enhancement & Continuous Improvement

• Lead service improvement initiatives for email security and endpoint protection platforms.
• Plan and support product upgrades, feature enhancements, and end-of-life (EOL) technology replacements.
• Evaluate new security capabilities and recommend improvements.
• Identify opportunities to automate routine operational tasks.
• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with business requirements.

Collaboration & Technical Support

• Work closely with Infrastructure, Messaging, Security Operations, and Business teams.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations for email and endpoint security solutions.
• Support implementation of new security technologies and enterprise initiatives.
• Assist stakeholders in understanding cybersecurity risks and recommended controls.
• Deliver technical presentations and architecture updates to business and technical teams.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and security metrics using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Perform log analysis and correlation using SIEM platforms.
• Maintain security architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Produce reports for management, audits, and compliance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Information Security or Cybersecurity.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise email security solutions such as:
• Proofpoint
• Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (MDO)
• Similar Email Security Gateway solutions
• Experience with endpoint security technologies such as:
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE)
• Microsoft Intune
• McAfee ePO
• Other enterprise endpoint protection platforms
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 (Office 365).
• Experience supporting hybrid email environments.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Anti-Spam & Anti-Malware Protection
• DMARC
• SPF
• DKIM
• Email Encryption
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• URL Filtering
• Sandboxing Technologies
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles including:
• CIA Triad
• Identity & Access Management
• Vulnerability Management
• Risk Assessment
• Security Auditing
• Knowledge of Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management processes.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and security monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation technologies (PowerShell or similar) is an advantage.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
