Position Summary

Under general supervision, the CNC Programmer/Engineer creates CAD geometry and CNC programs for the fabrication of precision parts, and supports Sales in resolving print issues - illegible drawings, missing dimensions, or any other gaps that would prevent us from producing the part correctly. The role also validates the process flow of each part through the job traveler and develops manufacturing plans that balance quality, efficiency, and priority. This position reports to and works closely with engineering, and production personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Create efficient, accurate CNC programs and generate part geometry and prints from CAD models for manufacturing use
• Review and validate customer blueprints to confirm they are complete and contain all information required for manufacturing; flag and resolve discrepancies with Sales
• Develop process plans for parts from start to finish, coordinating across all production departments
• Review and approve the job traveler's sequence of operations
• Provide accurate setup sheets with clear machining instructions
• Provide time estimates and technical assistance to Sales during quoting (procedure, feasibility, run time)
• Document changes and additional information on job procedures and run times, and submit them to Sales for quote adjustments
• Update job sheet information, including procedure, blank size, and machine allocation
• Submit purchase requests for special tooling
• Enter and maintain required job data in the company ERP system (Epicor Kinetics) following in-house training
• Conduct end-of-project reviews to finalize program and run-time documentation

Qualifications

• Fluent in English
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of CNC programming experience
• 3+ years of CNC mill setup and machining experience
• 2+ years of CAD modeling experience
• Proficient in reading blueprints, with a solid working grasp of tolerancing and GD&T
• Thorough understanding of CAM software and CNC machine capabilities, controls, and limitations
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple jobs against deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following is an advantage:

• Autodesk Fusion and SolidWorks experience greatly preferred
• Working knowledge of Epicor Kinetics (or comparable ERP/MRP system) is a plus
• MasterCAM or SurfCAM experience is a plus
• Experience in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment
• Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, finishing, and secondary operations
• Understanding of bills of materials (BOMs) and routings

Compensation & Benefits

• RM5,500 – RM7,500 monthly salary (based on experience)
