Responsibilities

What The Role Is

You lead a team and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on exit management matters for military regulars and defence executive personnel. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of exit processes including release, resignation, end-of-term, discharge, second career transition, and employment matters for personnel across all services. You also drive continuous improvement of HR processes and systems to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Lead daily operations and ensure smooth execution of all exit management functions
  • Serve as the primary SME providing specialist advice on exit management matters to Department Heads, Service Personnel Departments, and SAF units
  • Manage and review system processes related to retirement, resignation, end-of-term, discharge, and career transition programmes
  • Prepare and submit monthly retirement and release cases for approval
  • Oversee the accurate maintenance of exit administration data for management reporting and KPI monitoring
  • Facilitate timely disbursement of release benefits and ensure exit liabilities and overpayments are properly transmitted to payment agencies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for exit-related audits, including drafting responses to audit observations
  • Assess, motivate, and develop staff to achieve optimal performance and organisational excellence

    Challenge(s)
  • Managing a wide spectrum of HR administrative responsibilities while balancing process reviews and IT system enhancements, ensuring daily operations continue seamlessly
  • Navigating a high volume of exit cases with discernment and prioritising high-impact cases to meet service quality targets
  • Driving mindset transformation and cultivating a customer-centric culture across a diverse team while managing the expectations of a broad range of stakeholders
  • Exercising tact and diplomacy when communicating with Senior Commanders, Department Heads, and counterparts across Services and agencies
  • Keeping abreast of policy developments to respond effectively to novel situations and ensure compliance across all exit management functions

What We Are Looking For

  • Education in Business Administration and Human Resource is advantageous
  • At least 6 years of experience in HR management
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing teams and driving organisational performance
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels
  • Meticulous and process-oriented, with a keen eye for compliance and service quality
  • Familiarity with HR systems and experience working with IT and system stakeholders is advantageous
