Assist the Senior Breeder to execute the crop breeding plans successfully
- The Assistant Plant Breeder will work closely with the Senior Breeder to accomplish the short- and long-term breeding goals as well as actively participate in all tasks related to breeding, testing, and selection.
- Help plan, organize, and oversee field and greenhouse trials.
- Develop an understanding of the culture, morphology, and floral biology of the crop to implement efficient breeding strategy
- Become familiar with analytical methods for evaluation of genetic material
- Design strategies and plans base on the project given, with clear objectives, implementation plan, and time line
- Cooperate with team members to achieve your project goals
- Present your result to teams.
- Collect, evaluate, and critically analyse the phenotypic data from field and greenhouse trials.
- Assist with supply and maintenance of Breeder's Seed stock
- Develop the skills and use the Enza Zaden approved ICT programs.
- Generate the database of breeding programs
- Follow the product delivery SOPs and Phytosanitation protocols
- Work with the Farm agronomic staff to coordinate land preparation and field plot maintenance
- Regular meetings and planning of work schedules with farm team for efficient breeding program executions
- A Master/PhD holder in Plant Breeding or a relevant Agriculture field who is interested in plant breeding and willing to develop your career.
- Looking for Local Candidate - Malaysia.
- Contract for at least 6 months or 1 year
- Your strong communication skills enable you to cooperate effectively with colleagues and maintain relationships with external contacts.
- Basic training related to plant breeding will be provided.
- You are practical and work in a precise and structured way. You understand that the team's interests always come first.
