About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Visibility & Reporting: Design and maintain unified cost dashboards across a multi-cloud environment to provide stakeholders with clear, real-time spend transparency.
• Modern Resource Governance: Establish and manage cost-allocation practices for emerging technologies, including API and resource consumption metrics for modern digital tools.
• Cost Attribution: Define and implement robust tagging policies to ensure accurate cloud cost mapping across various business units, products, and development environments.
• Rate & Commitment Optimization: Analyze and manage commitment-based discount strategies (such as savings plans and reserved capacity) to lower overall cloud run rates.
• Waste Reduction: Partner with engineering teams to identify, track, and decommission underutilized or idle cloud infrastructure.
• Financial Forecasting: Collaborate with Corporate Finance teams to build monthly and quarterly cloud spend forecasts, highlighting variance drivers based on technical roadmaps.
• Anomaly Monitoring: Set up automated alerts to catch unexpected cost spikes early and work with operations teams to resolve them.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience analyzing complex cloud billing datasets and pricing structures.
• Analytical proficiency with data tools (such as SQL, Python, or major BI visualization platforms).
• Strong understanding of cost-saving mechanisms and pricing models for major public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical cloud architectures into financial business cases for leadership.
• Familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cloud optimization best practices.

Preferred Certifications

• FinOps practitioner certification (or equivalent experience).
• Foundational cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
