About the role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our operations team in Sabah. This is a critical position within our Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics operations, where you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The Mechanic plays a vital role in supporting our production objectives and ensuring that all mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently. This position is based on-site in Sabah.
What you'll be doing
Performing routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency
Diagnosing mechanical faults and defects using appropriate testing equipment and tools
Repairing and replacing damaged or worn components, parts and mechanical systems
Assembling, disassembling and reassembling mechanical equipment as required
Maintaining detailed maintenance records and documentation of all work performed
Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices when working with machinery and equipment
Collaborating with production teams to minimise equipment downtime and maintain production schedules
Performing preventative maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and machinery
Using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment in daily work
What we're looking for
Relevant mechanical qualifications or certification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience working as a Mechanic in a manufacturing or logistics environment
Strong proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment
Solid understanding of mechanical principles, systems and machinery operation
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and maintenance manuals
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing equipment
Strong commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
