Job Description: Margin Operations Analyst/Associate
What you'll actually do day-to-day:
- Process daily margin calls (collateral demands) between the bank and its trading counterparties, and book them correctly in the collateral management system
- Investigate and resolve disagreements ("disputes") when the bank and counterparty don't agree on how much margin is owed
- Reconcile Initial Margin exposures and trade data using tools like AcadiaSoft / Blazer
- Handle client questions, issues, and complaints related to margin
- Work closely with other teams — Credit, Legal, Compliance, XVA (valuation adjustments), Front Office, Middle Office — to sort out issues
- Help test new systems/processes (UAT) and check they worked properly after go-live
- Make sure work follows regulations like EMIR, Dodd-Frank, HKMA (margin rules that apply in Europe, US, and Hong Kong respectively)
- Write and maintain procedure documents (DOIs — Desk Operating Instructions)
- Join risk control reviews, disaster recovery drills, and business continuity tests
- Train new joiners and support other teams
- Flag risks or issues to the right people quickly, and escalate anything outside normal policy

Internal teams across Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and Front Office business heads.
