Internship Position: Undergrad Intern – Security Unit, HSSE Department, RTS Operation Pte Ltd

Duration: 6 Months (July-Dec 2026)

Department: HSSE (Reporting  to Security Manager)

Location: Wadi Hana Depot (JB) / Bukit Chagar Station / Menara JLand

Objective

To provide practical exposure to cross-border critical infrastructure protection, international bilateral security coordination, transit security intelligence, and operational incident investigation within a high-capacity, bilateral mass transit environment.

Core Responsibilities & Job Scope

1. Physical & Protective Security Management

• CCTV & Surveillance Monitoring: Assist the Joint CCTV monitoring room and Command Center in assessing real-time feeds, perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS), and access control anomalies.
• Auxiliary Force Coordination: Support supervisors in tracking the deployment and shift routines of the Auxiliary Police and Certified Security Guards (CSG) across station platforms, depots, and the international border boundary.
• Vulnerability Assessments: Participate in routine physical security audits of the Wadi Hana Depot and Bukit Chagar station infrastructure to identify gaps in asset protection.

2. Cross-Border  Management & Coordination

• Bilateral Protocol Alignment: Help maintain documentation and operational compliance with the Joint Standard Operating Procedures (JSOPs) agreed upon between Malaysian and Singaporean security enforcement agencies.
• Restricted Area (KLTL) Enforcement: Shadow security officers to observe and document regulatory compliance within designated cross-border transit zones, ensuring restricted access policies are rigidly enforced.
• Crisis Management Exercises: Participate in the planning, logistics, and documentation of inter-agency counter-terrorism drills, emergency evacuation simulations, and bilateral readiness tests.

Deliverables & Learning Outcomes

• End-of-Internship Project: Develop a comprehensive Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA) or a standard investigative case study report focusing on an operational facet of the RTS Link.
• Technical Skills Gained: Practical mastery of industrial Access Control Systems, transit incident logging software, and regulatory compliance tracking in an international transport environment.
