About the Roles
We are hiring an R&D Engineer (Waste & Process Development) to join a waste management and materials recovery organization based in Tuas. This is a permanent, full-time position operating on a Monday to Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with company transport provided for convenience. What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and improve waste treatment, handling, and recovery processes to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to assess waste streams, uncover opportunities, and support pilot projects
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies by collaborating with external stakeholders such as universities and research institutes
- Build and upgrade laboratory capabilities, including developing analytical methods and supporting process innovation
- Enhance existing operations through continuous improvement initiatives and alternative treatment solutions
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, proper documentation practices, and EHS standards in all R&D and lab activities
- Develop solutions for complex or high-value waste streams while contributing to business expansion and facility planning
- Monitor industry developments and proactively recommend relevant technological advancements
- Support additional tasks and projects as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in specialty chemicals, oil & gas, or water treatment
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Capability to perform visual inspections and accurately differentiate colour variations in laboratory or process settings
