Job Description

Responsibilities

Role:

  • We are hiring a database administrator to support highly available MS SQL Server and MongoDB environments in Singapore.
  • This is a hands-on production operations role focused on database stability, incident recovery, performance, disaster recovery readiness and safe production changes.
  • You will work closely with infrastructure, systems, software, security and compliance teams to support secured, high-availability systems where database reliability, data integrity and recovery readiness directly affect service continuity.
  • The role offers genuine exposure across both relational and NoSQL database platforms, along with the opportunity to strengthen your experience in high availability, disaster recovery, production incident management and cross-layer troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2 and L3 production support for MS SQL Server and MongoDB.
  • Investigate and resolve database outages, failover issues, blocking, deadlocks, slow queries and storage-related performance problems.
  • Support MS SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and MongoDB replica sets.
  • Monitor replication, cluster health, failover readiness and database performance.
  • Maintain full, differential and transaction-log backup processes.
  • Perform database restores, point-in-time recovery and recovery validation.
  • Review database scripts before production deployment.
  • Support data patches, data seeding, application releases and database migrations.
  • Perform SQL Server patching, cumulative updates and planned maintenance.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in production database administration.
  • Recent, direct experience administering MS SQL Server in production.
  • Experience across most of the following MSSQL areas: Always On Availability Groups, high availability and failover, backup and recovery, performance tuning, execution-plan analysis, index optimisation, blocking and deadlock troubleshooting, and SQL Server patching and cumulative updates.
  • Experience handling Severity 1, P1 or equivalent critical production incidents.
  • Experience supporting production deployments, data changes or database migrations.
