About the Project:
For the construction and commissioning of a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission system, we are seeking a versatile and experienced professional to cover the role of HVDC Electrical Erection Supervisor. This position ensures smooth and proper erection of sensitive HVDC equipment.
Role Overview:
The HVDC Electrical Erection Supervisor oversees the onsite assembly and installation of heavy electrical equipment at the converter station. This role is focused on the successful execution of mechanical and electrical erection tasks—from the unloading of components to the final mechanical completion—ensuring that all assembly procedures align with OEM specifications and site safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Erection Oversight: Lead the installation of critical HVDC components, including converter transformers, valve halls, smoothing reactors, filter banks, and busbar systems.
- Heavy Lifting & Rigging: Coordinate complex lifting plans and rigging operations, ensuring heavy equipment is positioned safely and accurately in accordance with site assembly drawings.
- Assembly Compliance: Verify that all sub-assemblies (e.g., cooling systems, valve stacks, insulator strings) are installed per the manufacturer’s installation manuals and technical specifications.
- Progress Tracking: Manage the daily installation schedule, tracking material receipt, progress of mechanical assembly, and identifying potential bottlenecks in the supply chain or erection workflow.
- Inter-disciplinary Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the mechanical erection teams, electrical cable installers, and the site engineering team to resolve interface issues.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of "as-built" information, installation checklists, torque verification logs, and non-conformance reports during the erection phase.
- Safety & Compliance: Manage site-specific hazards related to high-elevation work, heavy machinery, and confined space access; ensure all erection activities strictly follow project environmental and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Technical diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in the erection and installation of high-voltage transmission equipment; specific experience with HVDC converter station construction is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret complex civil, mechanical, and electrical layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly schematics.
- Operational Skills: Experience supervising subcontractors, managing tool/equipment logistics, and overseeing heavy-duty equipment installation.
- Certifications: Professional certification in high-voltage installation or relevant electrical trade license; proficiency in rigging/lifting standards is a significant asset.
- Physical Ability: Capability to work in varied outdoor environments and site conditions common to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
