The Security Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of the hotel's security and safety operations. This role ensures compliance with company policies, local regulations, fire and life safety standards, and emergency response procedures while providing a secure environment for guests, associates, visitors, and hotel property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all requirements for security and safety as set forth by management, and to advice management on security matters.
  • Assist Human Resources in industrial relations, domestic inquiries and matters related to associate discipline.
  • Ensure Security Associate assigned to the Hotel Main entrance coordinate the traffic flow and assist the bell services when needed.
  • Ensure strict control on overall Hotel policies regarding members, guests, non-registered visitors to Hotel rooms.
  • Implement crime prevention measures for safety of property and well-being of Hotel guests and golf members, and to formulate remedial measures in the event of a crime. The Security and Safety Manager must also promote crime prevention awareness among associates and security associates on an on-going basis.
  • Supervise all activities of security associate to ensure compliance with and proper application of functional area regulations and Hotel policies.
  • Maintain constant contact with law enforcement authorities and other related government departments in order to get their assistance as fast as possible on matters related to security and safety of the Hotel.
  • Plan, schedule and roster Security associates.
  • Review all security measures, procedures, equipment and methods for protective and preventive purposes as well as to maintain efficiency and tight security control from time to time.
  • Review daily reports from Security Personnel, issuing necessary orders to counteract unsatisfactory or irregular situation and condition.
  • Handle and investigate all cases of accident, fire, and theft including all correspondence relating to those losses and accidents.
  • Handle all cases relating to unruly behavior by members, guest and associates as well as provide adequate services for crowd and traffic control.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer so that all fire points and extinguishers are service regularly and to report any defects to the Chief Engineer for repair.
  • Coordinate with other Functional Heads/Team Leaders for training on security and safety matters such as fire drill and first aid programmers.
  • Ensure that assets that are transferred out of the Hotel are accompanied by a gate pass accordingly to policy.
  • Ensure that the General cashier is escorted during collection of daily revenue.
  • Prepare floor patrolling schedule and ensure that it is properly adhered to.
  • Conduct surveys and reviews on prevailing crime trends with the view to upgrade, rectify or update security operations.
  • Assist the Manager-on-duty in investigating any guests' or members' complaints relate to security matters.
  • Review policies, procedures and instructions on a regular basis and make recommendations to Management when policy changes are required.
  • Ensure safety of persons and their properties within Hotel premises Hotel regulations and existing laws must be enforced stringently.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, occupational safety requirements, and hotel emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate regular fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency preparedness training.
  • Ensure all fire protection systems and emergency equipment are inspected and maintained in collaboration with the Engineering Department.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.

Requirements

  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in hotel security, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in a 3-star, 4-star, or 5-star hotel environment is highly preferred.
  • Former Police, Military, or Enforcement personnel are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, security systems, CCTV, access control, and emergency response.
  • Good understanding of Malaysian occupational safety and health regulations and fire safety requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, incident reporting systems, CCTV software).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, public holidays, and be on-call when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
