ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver excellent, consistent customer service within the assigned section.
• Lead, mentor, and support the retail team in serving customers with care and enthusiasm.
• Maintain deep product knowledge and confidently share book recommendations.
• Manage merchandising to ensure the section is visually appealing, well-organized, and aligned with store standards.
• Ensure the section is well-stocked and oversee timely replenishment of inventory.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with quarterly stock takes.
• Monitor section sales performance and contribute to achieving overall store targets.
• Support in-store promotions and marketing initiatives.
• Assist in organizing and executing section-related events (e.g., book launches, author signings).
• Handle customer feedback, inquiries, and issues with professionalism and empathy.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Communicate effectively with the Store Manager and other Section Heads to align on store goals.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Business, Literature, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a retail supervisory role, preferably in a bookstore or similar environment.
• Passion for books and strong familiarity with the assigned section’s category (e.g., Fiction, Children’s, Non-Fiction).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on product knowledge and customer service best practices.
