Our client is seeking a talented C++ Software Developer to join their Memory Management team, responsible for building and enhancing the core infrastructure that powers large-scale data storage, processing, and analytics. This team develops high-performance, distributed microservices that support critical research and data-driven decision-making across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges involving scalability, performance optimisation, distributed systems, and modern C++ development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C++ microservices within the Memory Management platform
• Enhance the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of systems handling large-scale data workloads
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and latency
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in production and development environments
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following modern C++ best practices
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design initiatives
• Collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and support teams to streamline deployment and operations
• Contribute to the design and optimisation of large-scale data processing and storage pipelines
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in modern C++ and systems engineering

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience using C++
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ (C++17/20 preferred)
• Experience developing microservices and highly concurrent, multithreaded applications
• Solid Linux development and debugging experience
• Good understanding of databases and SQL
• Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale datasets
• Exposure to memory management concepts such as RAII, smart pointers, custom allocators, memory pools, object lifecycle management, and performance optimisation techniques
• Experience with streaming, event-driven, or dataflow systems is highly desirable
• Experience building platforms that manage or process large-scale graph data would be advantageous
• Python development experience is a plus
