PC-Based Motion Control Architecture: Design and implement multi-axis precision stage motion control systems using PC-based software architectures (e.g., C#/.NET, C++).
EtherCAT & Fieldbus Management: Develop, configure, and maintain real-time motion programs utilizing EtherCAT protocols (e.g., Beckhoff TwinCAT, ACS Motion Control, RSI, or equivalent) to coordinate synchronous stage movement and high-speed I/O.
Vision & Triggering Integration: Interface directly with machine vision systems (HALCON-based image acquisition pipelines) to implement precise encoder-based hardware triggering (Position Compare Output / PEG) for synchronized on-the-fly image capture.
Throughput Optimization: Collaborate closely with machine vision engineers to optimize inspection throughput by minimizing stage settle times, reducing overall machine tact time, and refining dynamic motion path planning.
Hardware I/O & Mechanism Control: Program, and debug PC-to-hardware interfaces, including servo drives, digital/analog I/O, linear/rotary encoders, vacuum/pneumatic controls, and high-speed pick-and-place mechanisms.
Diagnostic & Troubleshooting: Root-cause and resolve complex production floor and field issues, including encoder signal degradation, pick-and-place failures, tact time deviations, and axis homing/calibration errors.
Standards & Documentation: Maintain electrical schematics, I/O maps, and control documentation in strict compliance with international semiconductor standards (IEC, CE, SEMI).
Deployment & Support: Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and on-site commissioning of inspection platforms at customer facilities.
Lifecycle & Quality Management: Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for field escapes, and manage software/firmware version control via Git alongside standard ECO documentation.
Design Reviews: Provide technical input during Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR) to drive continuous improvement for next-generation hardware platforms.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in control system or motion control engineering, preferably in semiconductor equipment, precision automation, or machine vision environments.
Hands-on experience with servo/stepper motor systems, linear stages, and encoder-based feedback control.
Experience working on multi-axis coordinated motion systems in an industrial or cleanroom environment.
Exposure to AOI, wafer inspection, or similar high-precision automated equipment is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in motion controller programming.
Experience with industrial fieldbus/communication protocols: EtherCAT, Modbus, or RS-232/485.
Familiarity with PC-based real-time control software; experience integrating control subsystems with C# or C++ host applications is an advantage.
Understanding of machine vision trigger/strobe synchronisation and camera-encoder interfacing is an advantage.
