Job Description

Responsibilities

The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) is an organisation established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2024 to harness technology and foster innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems through global partnerships. GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invest in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund.


The Operations Intern will play a key support role in the planning and execution of the Singapore FinTech Festival 2026, one of the world’s leading fintech events. Working closely with the Operations team, the intern will be involved in exhibitor management, operational coordination, and on-site execution, gaining end-to-end exposure to large-scale event operations.


This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in managing complex event workflows, stakeholder coordination, and operational problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Event Operations Support

  • Assist in handling exhibitors’ enquiries and day-to-day communications
  • Support the processing of exhibitors’ submissions and documentation
  • Coordinate and track booth design submissions and approval processes
  • Assist in airspace charge calculations and compliance checks


Logistics & Vendor Coordination

  • Support planning and coordination of event logistics, including move-in/move-out schedules
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors to ensure smooth operational delivery


Administrative & Coordination Tasks

  • Maintain accurate records, trackers, and documentation
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and coordinating across internal and external stakeholders


Project & On-site Execution Support

  • Assist in executing operational plans during the event
  • Support troubleshooting and real-time issue resolution on-site


Process Improvement & Research

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and suggest improvements
  • Conduct research on event operations best practices and industry trends


Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience to ensure alignment and smooth delivery


Requirements:


Technical & Functional Skills

  • Basic understanding of event operations or project coordination workflows is advantageous
  • Ability to manage and track multiple workstreams, including exhibitor submissions, approvals, and documentation
  • Familiarity with interpreting floorplans, booth layouts, and compliance requirements (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Analytical skills for tasks such as airspace charge calculations and data tracking
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and approvals


Computer & Digital Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Excel functions (e.g., data tracking, basic formulas, and reporting)
  • Familiarity with collaboration and communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Outlook, or similar platforms)
  • Ability to learn and adapt to event management systems or submission portals


Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills for handling exhibitor enquiries and stakeholder coordination
  • Ability to manage communications with both internal teams and external parties (e.g., exhibitors, vendors)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team environment


Organisational & Time Management Skills

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong organisational skills in maintaining trackers, documentation, and schedules
  • Capability to work in a structured and process-driven environment

  • Proactive mindset in identifying issues and proposing practical solutions
  • Ability to remain composed and responsive in a fast-paced, high-pressure event setting
  • Willingness to take initiative and support ad-hoc operational needs
