We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to join our mining operations team. This role is critical in ensuring that raw materials and mineral samples meet stringent quality standards, supporting both production efficiency and regulatory compliance. You will be part of a laboratory environment that directly impacts operational safety, sustainability, and product integrity in the mining sector.
Responsibilities:
- Sample Collection & Testing: Collect, prepare, and analyze raw material and mineral samples from mine sites and processing plants using industry-standard methods.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect, measure, and examine samples to ensure compliance with mining and industrial quality standards.
- Data Analysis: Input, review, and interpret laboratory reports to identify defects, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Method Development: Assist in designing test methods, inspection plans, and SOPs tailored to mining operations.
- Equipment Calibration & Maintenance: Maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring accuracy through calibration and arranging repairs when necessary.
- Safety & Compliance: Handle chemicals, reagents, and mining-related materials safely, adhering to strict occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Hygiene & Standards: Uphold cleanliness and hygiene of laboratory equipment and workspaces to maintain sample integrity.
- Reporting: Communicate findings clearly to supervisors, engineers, and management for operational decision-making.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science, Mining Engineering, Mineral Resources Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 6 months of laboratory experience, preferably in mining, quarry, or heavy industry. Fresh graduates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management tools.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (field sample collection may be required).
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin/Indonesian proficiency is an advantage for cross-border collaboration.
- Training will be provided.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
