We are a lean, high-impact team where engineers work directly on cutting-edge AI products serving enterprise clients across Malaysia and the region.

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise robust data pipelines that drive business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and quality throughout all systems.
  • Collaborate with Product, Business, and Analytics teams to resolve data-related issues and support data transformation requirements.
  • Utilise workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow for orchestration.
  • Work with cloud-based data services, particularly on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Support and maintain containerised environments using Kubernetes.
  • Manage code versioning and collaboration using GitLab or GitHub, and contribute to documentation and code reviews.
  • Leverage productivity and collaboration tools such as G Suite, Jira, and Confluence.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in IT, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience beyond first degree.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Python.
  • Experience in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline creation.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and its data services.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Experience with GitLab or GitHub for code versioning and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Good understanding of distributed computing principles.
  • Working knowledge of productivity and collaboration tools such as G Suite, Jira, and Confluence.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with messaging and stream processing tools.
  • Familiarity with big data tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of code review and technical documentation practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to balance speed, reliability, and interpretability.
  • Openness to experimenting with new techniques and new ways of working.

Education

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in IT, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
