Software Engineer (Backend Execution)

Key Evaluation Criteria: 

1. Proficient, independent coding in primary language 
2. Disciplined, efficient use of AI coding tools to boost productivity while ensuring code correctness and stability. No advanced AI/model R&D experience required (proficient) and consistent use of AI tools is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain REST backends and APIs per approved specs
• Build end-to-end data pipelines (CSV / Excel / PDF → Postgres / MongoDB)
• Provide bug fixes, hotfixes, and routine maintenance for live services
• Execute scoped deployment integration tasks (pre-approved by core team)
• Handle prioritized backend tasks from a shared queue across multiple technical domains
• Break down tasks and craft precise prompts for AI tools; manually review and fix all AI-generated code before commit
• Follow standard Git workflow (branching, MRs, rebasing, conflict resolution); write clear MR descriptions and sync progress async

Requirements:

• Deep proficiency in one primary language: TypeScript, Rust, or Python (depth over breadth; Python candidates must have experience with Pydantic or similar for typed, modular code)
• Hands-on experience with Postgres (SQL) or MongoDB
• Daily use of mainstream AI coding tools (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, Kimi CLI, Tongyi Qianwen, GLM CLI, Cursor, Cline, etc.); able to clearly explain task decomposition, prompt engineering, manual review workflow, and scenarios requiring line-by-line code inspection
• Can solve basic programming problems independently without AI (data structures, text parsing, control flow)—tested during interviews
• Proficient with Git (branching, MRs, rebasing, merge conflict handling)
• Basic English reading/writing skills (read technical docs, write detailed MR descriptions, sync progress, handle basic interview communication; no speaking fluency required, no client interaction)

Interview Process:

• Screening: Resume + project portfolio review (GitHub links, MR records, or walkthroughs); explain tech stack and AI workflow using 2–3 shipped projects
• No-AI Coding Test: Timed hands-on coding, no AI tools allowed, using your primary language
• AI-Assisted Practical Assessment: Complete a real backend task with full access to AI tools; walk interviewer through prompt design, manual review steps, and code review/optimization
• Paid Trial: Complete 1–2 low-difficulty live tasks within a set timeframe—full trial compensation paid regardless of final delivery outcome
