Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and optimise database solutions to support enterprise applications and business operations.
• Develop and review database schemas to ensure data integrity, scalability, and performance.
• Optimise SQL queries, indexes, and database performance for both transactional and analytical workloads.
• Manage database replication, high availability, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance and capacity issues.
• Support data migration activities, including data validation and quality checks.
• Collaborate with application development teams to review database design, SQL performance, and system integrations.
• Manage database security, user access, and compliance with organisational policies.
• Perform database upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Support production environments by troubleshooting database-related incidents and ensuring high system availability.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Database Administration, including several years supporting enterprise production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with MariaDB database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and replication.
• Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical databases is highly preferred.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience optimising database performance.
• Good understanding of database high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
• Experience with database monitoring and performance management tools.
• Familiar with data migration, database upgrades, and production support.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure database environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience in Billing, Utilities, Financial Services, or other high-volume transaction environments is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
