IT Executive – Job Scope

1. Network Infrastructure Management

• Manage and maintain:
• Switches, routers, firewalls (e.g., Cisco, FortiGate)
• LAN/WAN connectivity
• Wi-Fi infrastructure (e.g., Aruba, UniFi)
• Perform basic to advanced network troubleshooting (ping, tracert, packet capture).
• Monitor network performance and availability (e.g., via PRTG, Zabbix).
• Firewall & Network Protection , VPN Gateway , Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Web Filtering & Application Control, Bandwidth Management (Traffic Shaping)

2. Server & System Administration

• Install, configure, and manage:
• Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, File Server)
• Linux servers (optional depending on environment)
• Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware ESXi, Hyper-V)
• Patch management and OS upgrades.
• Manage domain controller, group policies, and login scripts.

3. Storage & Backup Systems (VEEAM Software)

• Administer NAS/SAN storage solutions.
• Implement and manage backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Acronis).
• Perform regular backup testing and restore operations.

4. Security & Compliance

• Manage firewalls (e.g., FortiGate), antivirus, endpoint protection.
• Configure and monitor VPN (SSL/IPSec) for remote users.
• Handle access control, permissions, and user activity monitoring.
• Enforce IT security policies and assist in audits.

5. IT Asset & Inventory Management

• Maintain asset records of all servers, switches, laptops, etc.
• Plan for hardware/software upgrades and lifecycle replacements.

6. Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure (if applicable)

• Support cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS).
• Manage hybrid environments (e.g., on-prem AD + Azure AD Sync).
• Support cloud-based backups, email, file shares.

7. User Support (Tier 2/3)

• Escalated support for hardware, system, and network issues.
• Provide remote support and troubleshooting for branches/sites.
• Help during onboarding/offboarding of staff (accounts, emails, equipment).

8. Documentation & Monitoring

• Create and maintain:
• Network diagrams, system configurations, change logs.
• SOPs and recovery procedures.
• Monitor systems for health and alerts using monitoring tools.

9. Skills Often Required

• Windows Server, Active Directory
• VMware / Hyper-V virtualization
• Firewall configuration (FortiGate, SonicWall, etc.)
• Basic scripting (PowerShell, batch)
• Backup solutions (Veeam, Acronis)
• Network knowledge (TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
