Role Description This is a full-time Assistant Production Manager role in a hybrid work arrangement, based in the Kota Bharu, Malaysia Metropolitan Area, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure output meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Typical responsibilities include coordinating production schedules, monitoring equipment and line performance, supervising production teams, and ensuring adherence to cGMP and company procedures. The role involves collaborating with quality assurance, maintenance, supply chain, and safety teams to minimize downtime, optimize resource use, and resolve production issues. The Assistant Production Manager also assists with documentation, reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and training of production personnel.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in production planning, line supervision, and coordination of manufacturing activities.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, cGMP standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to monitor quality parameters, maintain documentation, and support audits and inspections.
- Skills in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of process improvements.
- Effective leadership abilities, including team supervision, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Comfort with basic production-related software, data entry, and reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or similar regulated manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
