Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the Technical/Engineering Department, establishing technical standards and direction.
• Serve as the company’s principal authority on electrical engineering matters.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of utility-scale and solar PV projects (Large-Scale Solar, Rooftop, Floating), from design through commissioning.
• Manage EPCC contractors to ensure safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant project delivery.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and construction methodologies.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and compliance with standards.
• Liaise with utilities and regulatory authorities on licensing, grid connection, inspections, and approvals.
• Support feasibility studies, tender submissions (e.g., Large-Scale Solar), and renewable energy expansion initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior management decision-making.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification; SEDA GVPV Designer Certification is preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, power generation, or renewable energy, with strong hands-on expertise in utility-scale solar PV projects. Experience in floating solar projects will be considered an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage EPCC contractors and deliver complex site execution successfully.
• Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical protection, SCADA, and plant performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory requirements, grid connection standards, and licensing processes.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration and/or Chargeman certification will be considered an added advantage.

Additional / Preferred Requirements:

• This is a senior‑level role with full technical accountability. 
• The role is hands‑on and requires regular engagement with project sites and authorities. 
• Scope covers both project delivery and operating solar assets. 
• Project scale includes utility‑scale and floating solar PV (30MW+ reference size). 
• Suitable for candidates already in a senior role or ready to step up into HOD responsibility.
