We are looking for an experienced and dynamic SHE Section Head to lead our Safety, Health & Environment function. This role requires more than statutory competency. We are seeking a strong leader who can build a proactive safety culture, develop people, strengthen governance and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Safety, Health & Environment Section, ensuring effective governance, accountability and team performance.
- Develop and implement SHE strategies, policies, procedures and improvement initiatives to strengthen safety culture and regulatory compliance.
- Lead the SHE team through coaching, performance management, manpower planning and competency development.
- Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Environmental Quality Act and other applicable legislation.
- Serve as the company's registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) and ensure statutory duties are fulfilled.
- Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective action and preventive improvement programmes.
- Drive safety audits, inspections, management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, external auditors, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with department heads to integrate SHE requirements into daily operations and business planning.
- Monitor SHE performance, analyse trends and report key performance indicators to management.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book) with DOSH.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing a Safety, Health & Environment function in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian SHE legislation, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience leading teams, developing people and driving organizational change.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in food manufacturing, oleochemical, chemical, or process industries is an advantage.
