Principal Software Engineer (Firmware Test Platform)

Our client, is an independent energy generation and infrastructure development firm, is looking for a high-calibre candidate to fulfil the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, enhancement, and maintenance of a flexible and scalable firmware test platform, including:

  • Test plan definition and management

  • Test procedure development

  • Automated script generation

  • Result validation and reporting automation

• Partner closely with firmware engineering teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective test platform capabilities.

• Design and implement framework enhancements to support evolving firmware testing needs and emerging technologies.

• Guide and mentor team members in software development best practices, code quality, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.

• Drive the resolution of software defects and performance issues to ensure platform stability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Plan, prioritize, and manage project deliverables, resources, and timelines to ensure successful execution and on-time delivery.

• Promote the adoption of modern software engineering methodologies and tools to improve development efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Minimum 9 years of experience in software design, development, and maintenance of enterprise or engineering applications.

• Strong programming expertise in Python, JavaScript, and Scala.

• Good working knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, and VBA.

• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern development methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and functional programming principles.

• Proven experience in preparing technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, and technical proposals.

• Hands-on experience utilizing AI technologies and tools to enhance software development productivity, code quality, and engineering efficiency.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and team mentoring capabilities.
