Position - Costing Engineer

Reports To - Engineering Manager

Purpose - The Costing Engineer supports the AKT team and is accountable for the complete estimating life-cycle: Request for Quotation (RFQ) to Quote, to Sales.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete a costing calculation (RFQ) within the time frame.
• Response to inquiries pertaining to new project and others relevant requirement.
• Communicate with Sales to understand and fulfil customer requirements.
• On time update RFQ document.
• Create Solidworks mechanical drawings.
• Interpret customer documentation, specifications and drawings.
• Pre and Post calculations of production time and cost.
• Proactive to seek cost saving opportunity internally and externally.
• Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review.
• Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.
• Source for potential supplier.
• Quotation documentation filling.
• Other assigned duties by superior as and when needed.

What Do We Want:

·       Must have at least a Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing with 5 years experiences or Degree with 3 years experiences.

·       CAD Software requirement: Solidworks is a MUST

·       Excellent knowledge of Product Bill of Material (BOM) generation and product cost calculation.

·       Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

·       Knowledge in ISO9001:2015 is an added advantage.

·       Details oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
