Role Description The Customs Clearance Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Bayan Lepas, responsible for overseeing daily customs clearance operations for import and export shipments. This role supervises a team handling documentation, classification, and submission of customs declarations to ensure compliance with local regulations and DHL standards. The supervisor monitors workflow, resolves operational issues, and coordinates closely with customs authorities, internal departments, and customers to prevent delays and ensure accurate processing. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing shipment documentation, managing exceptions, optimizing processes for efficiency, and providing guidance and training to team members. The role also involves maintaining updated knowledge of customs regulations, supporting audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the clearance operation.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to review customs documentation, resolve clearance issues, and interpret regulatory requirements.
• Experience in operations management, including supervising teams, managing workflows, and improving process efficiency.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with customs authorities, internal stakeholders, and customers.
• Knowledge of inventory management or shipment handling processes within logistics, freight, or express delivery environments.
• Proven customer service skills, with the ability to manage expectations and address clearance-related inquiries professionally.
• Good understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and related compliance standards (experience in express or logistics industry is an advantage).
• Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under time pressure.
• Proficiency in relevant office and logistics systems; familiarity with customs clearance software is beneficial.
• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Willingness to work on-site in Bayan Lepas and collaborate as part of a diverse, inclusive team.
