Job Purpose

To support, enhance, and maintain Takaful application systems by providing reliable development and application support services, ensuring system stability, regulatory compliance, and effective support of business operations.

Job Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities for this role encompass a range of application development, support, and collaborative tasks within the Takaful environment and MFRS17 implementation.

• Provide application development, enhancement, and production support for Takaful satellite (non-core) systems. This involves ensuring the smooth functioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of these systems.

• Investigate and resolve incidents within agreed SLA timelines. Timely resolution of issues is essential to maintain system reliability and meet service expectations.

• Perform unit testing and support System Integration Testing (SIT) as well as User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This ensures that all developed or enhanced applications meet quality standards and function as intended.

• Support month-end, year-end, and regulatory reporting cycles by providing technical assistance and ensuring reports are generated and submitted accurately and on time.

• Support post-implementation activities and production deployment, ensuring that newly deployed systems or enhancements are stable and meet business requirements.

• Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities proactively.

• Demonstrate strong accountability, discipline, and risk awareness in all activities, ensuring high standards of integrity and operational compliance.

• Support implementation and enhancement of MFRS17 Finance and Actuarial systems, contributing to accurate financial and actuarial reporting in accordance with MFRS17 standards.

• Monitor internal ETL processes, interfaces, and batch jobs related to MFRS17, ensuring efficient data flow and processing within the systems.

• Coordinate and work closely with vendors, business users, and internal IT teams for system issues, business requirements, change requests, system enhancements, and release deployments. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for successful project delivery.

• Ensure all development and support activities comply with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), secure coding standards, and internal IT policies to maintain system integrity and security.

Job Requirement

• Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Systems

• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. Agile, system or database certification) are an advantage.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in application development and/or application support.

• Prior exposure to Takaful, Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services systems preferred.

• Exposure to MFRS17 project is highly desirable.
