This role is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations by ensuring production processes are performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established standards. The Process Technician monitors equipment and process performance, troubleshoots manufacturing issues, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and works closely with cross-functional teams to achieve production, quality, and yield targets.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all process activities are performed accurately and in accordance with standards.
Monitor machine and line performance, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions to optimize efficiency and product quality.
Support daily production operations and sustain process performance.
Drive yield improvement through process/equipment updates, retrofits, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Collaborate with Line Supervisors, Process Engineers, and Machine Support teams to resolve issues and enhance line performance.
Assist in new product introduction (NPI), including process buy-off, troubleshooting, and root cause/corrective action (RCCA) for quality issues.
Continuously improve process cycle times and support SMT process enhancements, including reflow, wave soldering, screen printing, etc.
Maintain process equipment and tooling (e.g., reflow oven, wave soldering, washing machines, jigs, fixtures, pallets, and baskets).
Provide detailed shift pass-downs and ensure smooth handovers.
Support Process Engineers in meeting KPIs and other assigned objectives.
Adhere to safety, health, and company security policies.
Qualifications Required
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, SMT operations, process engineering support, or a related environment.
Preferred Skills
Basic knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes, including screen printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and wave soldering.
Familiarity with troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and process-related issues.
Understanding of process control, yield improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of quality tools such as 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, SPC, or RCCA is an added advantage.
Familiarity with manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process control procedures.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, process specifications, and engineering documents.
