Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled AS400 Developer with strong experience in RPG, COBOL, and IBM i (AS400) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing legacy applications, ensuring system reliability, and supporting business-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on AS400 (IBM i) platform.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, code, test, and debug programs using RPG (RPG III / IV / ILE RPG) and COBOL.
• Work with CLP/CLLE programs, DB2/400 database, and related utilities.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts and QA teams.
• Participate in system upgrades, performance tuning, and optimization activities.
• Maintain documentation for applications, processes, and enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in:
• RPG (RPG III, RPG IV, ILE RPG)
• COBOL on AS400
• IBM i / AS400 System

Experience with:

• CL/CLLE programming
• DB2/400 (DB2 for i)
• File handling (Physical & Logical files)
• Good understanding of batch and online processing.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and job logs on IBM i.
• Ability to work on legacy system modernization and enhancements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ILE concepts, service programs, and APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL on DB2/400.
• Exposure to system integration and web services.
• Experience in domains such as Banking, Insurance, or Manufacturing (optional).
• Familiarity with modern tools for AS400 modernization is a plus.

Experience Required:

Typically 8–15 years of relevant experience in AS400 development (customize as needed).
