Job Scope
Innovative & experienced QA Engineer to join our Product Delivery Teams at G2G! You're ambitious to ensure that our applications meet the established quality standards, are fully functional and user-friendly. We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to own quality across our applications — designing and maintaining automated test suites, conducting exploratory testing, identifying product and process issues, and presenting solutions. QA at G2G is automation-first and AI-augmented: we use Claude (Claude Code) with the Playwright MCP server and Playwright test agents to explore the app, generate, and heal end-to-end tests. You'll direct these tools with engineering judgment — deciding what to test, validating AI-generated coverage, and keeping the suite fast and reliable. This role works closely with various departments to define and validate test cases based on quality requirements, and to recommend improvements to our quality guidelines. This position is based in the G2G Kuala Lumpur office.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans covering functionality, reliability, performance, and quality.
  • Build, run, and maintain automated E2E and API test suites in Playwright (TypeScript), integrated into our CI/CD pipeline.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows (Claude Code + Playwright MCP/CLI) to generate test plans and specs; review and validate AI-generated tests for coverage, edge cases, and flakiness.
  • Perform exploratory and manual testing where automation isn't the right tool.
  • Log defects with clear reproduction steps in our defect tracking system.
  • Identify and resolve workflow and production issues; investigate user complaints and product issues.
  • Ensure user expectations are met during the testing process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in software QA/testing.
  • Working knowledge of Playwright (or strong experience with a comparable framework and willingness to adopt Playwright quickly).
  • Basic scripting ability in TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience testing Single Page Applications (SPA), Server Side Rendering (SSR), Web-service APIs, and Flutter mobile apps.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab Pipeline).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Nice to have:
    • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools — Claude Code, Playwright MCP, or Playwright test agents (planner/generator/healer).
    • Prompt-driven test generation and AI-assisted defect triage.
    • Accessibility-tree-based testing (ARIA snapshots).
    • Familiarity with AWS-based environments.
