Infrastructure Management: Oversee the development and installation of new networking and computing infrastructures.
System Deployment: Install and configure operating systems and application software.
Technology Selection: Select the best possible solutions utilizing knowledge of a wide range of available technologies.
Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor systems in the existing network to ensure there are no productivity setbacks.
Security & Backups: Implement best practices for system security and data backups.
Troubleshooting: Anticipate potential issues or bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and troubleshoot/resolve all technical issues as they arise.
Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with IT support staff to ensure the setup process runs smoothly. Liaise with vendors and keep relevant stakeholders up to date with developments.
General Duties: Perform any other tasks as and when required.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Technical Skills & Experience
System Deployment (New): Familiarity with deploying systems in physical servers, VMware (Windows/Linux), and Docker / CI environments.
OS & Administration: Proven track record of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX-based systems. Familiarity with system administration, performance tuning, and monitoring.
Automation & Scripting: Experience creating scripts (e.g., Python) and setting up software for automation.
Networking: Exceptional knowledge of networking technologies.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple problems and issues simultaneously.
Mobility: Willingness to travel for business purposes.
