Role Description The Mechanical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Singapore. The Mechanical Engineer will design, review, and optimize ACMV and process systems, including chiller plants, air handling units, ventilation systems, and related mechanical installations. Daily tasks include preparing and updating CAD drawings, performing load calculations, selecting equipment, and supporting clean room and stainless-steel piping designs. The role involves coordinating with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements, schedules, and quality standards are met, as well as participating in site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, support troubleshooting, and assist in R&D or continuous improvement initiatives for existing systems.
Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering foundation, with strong knowledge of ACMV systems and mechanical design principles.
- Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for creating, modifying, and reviewing technical drawings and layouts.
- Project Management capabilities to plan tasks, track progress, manage resources, and support on-site coordination.
- Research and Development (R&D) skills to evaluate new technologies, improve system efficiency, and support technical problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in building services, HVAC/ACMV, process systems, or clean room projects is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
- Willingness to work on-site, conduct site inspections, and adapt to project-based schedules.
