The Role: E&I Engineer - Client Representative — Onsite Supervision & QA/QC
As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Senior/Lead E&I Engineer. Your mission is to provide day-to-day field oversight of the shipyard's electrical and instrumentation installation work, ensuring it is executed safely, to specification, and on schedule.
- Conduct day-to-day field engineering, inspection, cable transit verification, and progress tracking.
- Monitor daily E&I installation logs, instrument calibration certificates, loop checks, and contractor routine operations.
- Witness equipment testing, verify the closeout of E&I punch lists, monitor Ex-integrity registers, and ensure all site modifications match approved "as-built" electrical drawings.
- Report daily progress and any technical concerns to the Senior/Lead E&I Engineer.
- Enforce contractor adherence to the technical specifications, philosophies, and standards laid out in the project contract.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Control Engineering.
- Working knowledge of hazardous area (ATEX / IECEx) certified equipment installation and inspection.
- Familiarity with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and SS 638.
- Minimum 4–7 years of experience in offshore/marine construction or fabrication.
- PMT / Client Representative experience preferred but not essential.
- With the assertiveness to hold contractors accountable on behalf of the client.
