Data Centre Project & Operations Coordinator (Network Infrastructure)

Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Employment: 12-Month Renewable Contract

Work Hours: 9am-6pm, 5 days work week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Project & Operations Coordinator to support the deployment, transition, and day-to-day operation of a hyperscale data centre environment.

This role is ideal for someone who has been involved in IT infrastructure or network projects, understands network technologies, and has experience coordinating projects from construction, deployment, commissioning, go-live, and into steady-state operations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Coordinate IT infrastructure and network deployment activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project planning, implementation, commissioning, testing, and operational handover.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, customers, and internal technical teams.
• Track project milestones, risks, issues, and action items.
• Ensure infrastructure is delivered according to project timelines and operational requirements.

Network Infrastructure

• Coordinate installation and deployment of network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, structured cabling, fibre infrastructure, and server connectivity.
• Work closely with network engineers during implementation and migration activities.
• Possess a good understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Support network cutover, validation, and post-implementation activities.

Operations & Maintenance

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Support change management, incident management, and operational readiness.
• Manage maintenance schedules, vendor access, and work permits.
• Monitor service requests, operational issues, and SLA compliance.
• Support asset lifecycle, inventory management, and capacity planning.

Documentation & Governance

• Prepare and maintain MOP, SOP, EOP, PTW, checklists, operational reports, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety requirements, and customer standards.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
• 3–8 years of experience in Data Centre Operations, IT Infrastructure, Network Infrastructure, or Project Coordination.
• Experience supporting projects from construction through commissioning, go-live, and operations.
• Good understanding of enterprise networking, including:
• TCP/IP
• IP Addressing
• IP Subnetting
• VLANs
• Routing & Switching
• Fibre Connectivity
• Structured Cabling
• Familiarity with servers, storage, and network infrastructure deployed within data centre environments.
• Experience working with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Familiarity with MOP, SOP, EOP, PTW, ITIL processes, and operational documentation.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
