Job purpose

This position performs laser cutting of sheet metal/tube in accordance with the manufacturing process, following process sheets, standard operating procedures and laser cutting program to meet the required quality and production schedule per specification.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Understanding and interpreting Engineering Drawing, Laser Cutting Procedure, Work Instruction and Process Sheet
• Loading and unloading material and program to/from the machine
• Performing laser cutting jobs using correct materials and tool specification to meet customer requirement
• Setting up, operating and maintaining laser cutting tools & machine in the workplace
• Filling up the Process Sheet accordingly after completion of work
• Inspecting and maintaining all tools required for the job
• Improving cycle time of laser cutting and reducing quality defects
• Housekeeping and maintaining the cleanliness of workplace
• Adhering to safety and health regulations and guidelines
• Performing all duties as assigned by supervisor

Work experience and education requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent with minimum 1 year of working experience in operating laser cutting machine
• Local Vocational or Technical school leavers are preferred
• Knowledge in laser cutting processes
• Knowledge in handling laser cutting tools & machine maintenance
• Able to read and understand basic English, engineering drawing, laser cutting procedure etc

Other requirements

• Able to meet tight production schedule
• Able to work in shift and work under pressure
• Able to work longer working duration when required by Supervisor

Pay: From RM1,800.00 per month
