Job Summary:
We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead on-site deployment of BEARS’s in-house AI platform (PUDA) at our partner labs. The candidate's first focus will be integrating the platform with high-throughput experimentation (HTE) reactors and thermo-catalyst synthesis workflows at ICSE2, A*STAR, with scope to expand to other AI4materials / AI4chemistry labs and industry partners.

The candidate will sit at the interface of chemistry, hardware, and software: translating what scientists need into working deployments, and feeding field learnings back into the product

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deploy and integrate PUDA on-site with existing lab tools (HTE reactors, synthesis equipment, analytical instruments, robotics)
• Work directly with chemistry and materials domain experts to capture workflows, pain points, and success criteria
• Convert lab requirements into clear, actionable specs for the software team
• Iterate on deployments based on customer feedback
• Author and maintain agentic SOPs for common workflows, troubleshooting, and operator handoff
• Support rollout to additional BEARS-affiliated and commercial AI4Mat / AI4Chem sites

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in chemical engineering, software engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a closely related field
• More than two years working experience deploying AI or automation systems in real-world lab, manufacturing, or R&D settings.
• Strong programming skills; experienced in using modern AI coding tools
• Working knowledge of chemistry and/or materials workflows (HTE, catalysis, synthesis, characterization a plus)
• Clear communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to travel for on-site deployments (within Singapore)

Other Desired Qualifications / Experiences / Skills:

• Experience with lab orchestration, LIMS, or instrument APIs
• Familiarity with LLM agents, CLI-driven workflows, or robotics integration
• Prior work in academic–industry collaboration (A*STAR, national labs, corporate R&D)

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
