We are seeking a creative and motivated Data Visualization Research Engineer to join our R&D team in Hong Kong. In this full-time research and development role, you will transform data from our novel thermal sensing platform into intuitive, real-time visual analytics. Because our sensing modality is unlike conventional camera or radar data, this role carries a genuine research dimension: you will investigate and develop new visualization methods for low-resolution spatial/thermal data, occupancy flows, and behavioral patterns. You will leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while building production-grade dashboards and web components. Working in our Hong Kong office, you will collaborate closely with our AI and embedded engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build interactive, real-time web-based visualizations for thermal-array occupancy and spatial analytics
• Research and develop novel visualization techniques suited to low-resolution, texture-less sensing data
• Develop responsive dashboards for real-time monitoring across smart-building, eldercare, and hospitality deployments
• Translate complex multi-sensor datasets into accessible, insightful visual representations and data-driven narratives
• Build reusable web components using React and Tailwind CSS
• Collaborate with the AI and embedded teams to visualize model outputs (presence, counting, localization, behavioral events)
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to streamline visualization workflows
• Document methods, best practices, and technical specifications

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (obtained, or in final year) in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• Solid understanding of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with data visualization concepts and principles
• Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, strong communication and collaboration skills
• Interest in AI tools and eagerness to work with emerging sensing technology
• Must be a Hong Kong permanent resident or hold a valid Hong Kong visa permitting employment
• Available for full-time, on-site work at our Hong Kong office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React.js or similar front-end frameworks
• Exposure to data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js)
• Familiarity with dashboard tools (e.g., Grafana), design tools (e.g., Figma), and component systems (e.g., shadcn/ui)
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, v0, MCP)
• Previous projects involving data analysis or visualization
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles and version control (Git)

• Full-time, on-site position at our Hong Kong office
• Collaborative research environment with state-of-the-art facilities
• Regular in-person team meetings and brainstorming sessions
• Occasional flexibility for remote work, subject to project needs and management approval

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16,000.00 - $21,000.00 per month
