Senior Data Migration Analyst, Malaysia

As a fast-growing company in the Finance and FinTech industry, this role is integral to the business expansion strategy. The successful candidate will gain invaluable exposure and understanding of the funds industry and learn the detailed workings of investment funds including private equity and venture capital funds while working within a dynamic and collaborative team
In this project-based role, you will primarily support the onboarding and integration of both existing and new fund services clients. This encompassing role will offer a motivated individual the opportunity to hone their data analysis skills, work across departments with multiple stakeholders and gain in-depth knowledge on different financial reports, analytical calculations and investment details as well as various systems that are widely used in the fund finance industry
Responsibilities
- Review of funds offering documentation and legal agreements to understand the fund structure and operation of the fund
- Gather migration requirements, collect, analyse, convert, map and load data in the system
- Reconciliation of data after migration and reports format requirements
- Work closely with internal teams such as Fund Services, FinTech, Compliance and Client Success to understand client requirements and resolve any issues arising from the migration
- Assist in the preparation of client reports and other management reports as required
- Assist in preparation of documentation on operating procedures and project planning
- Develop strategies and propose solutions to achieve the end-goal and ensure success
- Assist on ad hoc projects as required
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree majoring in the areas of business, accounting, finance or information technology or equivalent qualifications
- Min 4 years of relevant experience in using accounting systems, software or data migration and system integration.
- Ability to work with multiple sources of data with high proficiency in Excel
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Possess time management skills and strong attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of accounting (understanding debits and credits).
- Familiarity with reading fundamental financial reports such as the balance sheet, profit and loss and trial balance.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage clearly with clients and stakeholders.
Good to have:
- Experience in system migration and data reconciliation would be an advantage
- Strong business understanding and commercial acumen
- Proficiency in Mandarin would be beneficial to support communication with stakeholders in China
