About the Role

Paydibs is looking for a DevOps to take ownership of our cloud platform, infrastructure operations, and production reliability.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be responsible for the availability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of our Production, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Staging environments. You will work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to ensure our payment platforms remain stable, scalable, and compliant while supporting business growth.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, automating repetitive tasks, improving platform resilience, and building a strong DevOps culture within the organization and is well verse in Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

• Manage and maintain Paydibs cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Ensure Production, DR, and Staging environments are secure, stable, and operating efficiently.
• Monitor platform health, system capacity, and resource utilisation.
• Lead infrastructure planning and scaling initiatives to support business growth.
• Manage cloud networking, DNS, load balancers, SSL certificates, and connectivity requirements.
• Work with vendors and service providers to resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Help on improvement and maintainance of our CI/CD pipelines

Kubernetes & Platform Management

• Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerised workloads.
• Ensure platform availability, performance, and operational readiness.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure automation and standardisation.
• Support deployment, rollback, and release activities.
• Establish operational standards, documentation, and platform best practices.

DevOps & Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
• Improve deployment processes through automation and standardisation.
• Reduce manual operational activities through scripting and tooling.
• Support development teams in improving deployment quality and release reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement across development and operational workflows.

Security & Compliance

• Work closely with security and compliance teams to maintain infrastructure security.
• Support PCI-DSS, RMiT, and other regulatory requirements applicable to payment services.
• Manage access controls, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening activities.
• Participate in audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Maintain and improve the Disaster Recovery environment.
• Plan and execute DR drills and failover exercises.
• Ensure recovery objectives are achievable and regularly validated.
• Maintain DR documentation and operational procedures.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor DevOps and infrastructure engineers.
• Promote operational excellence and accountability within the team.
• Define priorities, manage workload, and support team development.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders on technology initiatives and platform improvements.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, platform engineering, or related roles.
• At least 3 years of experience leading technical teams.
• Strong administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience operating production-critical systems with high availability requirements.
• Experience in financial services, payments, banking, fintech, or other regulated industries is an advantage.

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

• Kubernetes, Helm Charts and Docker
• Cloud platforms (Huawei Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD
• Monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki, or OpenTelemetry
• MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Kafka
• DNS, SSL/TLS, networking, load balancing, and firewalls
• Secrets management and infrastructure security practices

Good To Have

• Scripting and automation using Shell, Python, or similar languages
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools is added advantages
