Role Overview
The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile practices and ensuring effective delivery for two Scrum teams. This role serves as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator—helping teams continuously improve, remove impediments, and deliver high-value outcomes aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Delivery
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies for two teams, including:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Stand-ups
- Sprint Reviews
- Sprint Retrospectives
- Ensure Agile practices are consistently applied and understood across both teams.
- Support teams in delivering high-quality increments each sprint.
Team Coaching & Development
- Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Help teams become self-organizing and cross-functional.
Impediment Removal
- Identify and remove blockers impacting team delivery.
- Escalate issues when necessary and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Maintain visibility of risks and impediments.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness and prioritization.
- Communicate team progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
- Support alignment between business objectives and team delivery.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report key Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time).
- Use data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive retrospectives that produce actionable outcomes.
Cross-Team Coordination
- Manage dependencies between the two teams and with external teams.
- Promote knowledge sharing and alignment across teams.
- Support scaling practices if operating within a larger Agile framework (e.g., SAFe).
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator.
- Experience supporting multiple teams simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Agile principles, and frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred
- Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
- Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus).
- Background in software development or technical environments.
