Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver precision mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor and automation equipment.
In this role, you will be involved in the full engineering lifecycle — from concept and design to system integration and deployment — working on high-performance equipment used in real-world manufacturing environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role in bringing innovative engineering solutions to life.
Responsibilities
- Translate system requirements into robust mechanical designs and sub-system specifications
- Perform component selection, tolerance analysis, and motion system design to achieve high performance and reliability
- Develop and validate design concepts aligned with engineering and manufacturing requirements
- Lead system integration, testing, and validation across development, manufacturing, and customer-site phases
- Ensure systems meet performance, quality, and reliability expectations
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving during system build and commissioning
- Manage engineering activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept through release to manufacturing
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery
- Drive technical issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with System, Electrical, and Manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
- Lead internal teams or external partners in co-development projects
- Manage vendors and contractors to deliver high-quality sub-systems
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and customer-site deployment
- Resolve field issues and support system performance improvements based on real-world feedback
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor equipment, automation, or precision engineering industry
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, including tolerance stack-up and FEA
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3DCAD tools (mandatory)
- Exposure to vision systems, thermal modelling, or measurement techniques is an advantage
- Hands-on, with a passion for building, testing, and troubleshooting real systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
- Willing to travel and support critical project phases when required
