CONTEXT OF THE JOB


You will be reporting to the regional Head of RAMS from a day-to-day activities’ perspective. Provide support for local and regional applications within the business as part of the RAMS team (Regional application management and support). You will be responsible for supporting exchange related tasks and applications within the regional IT team from a projects and day to day activities point of view (communications, IT upgrades, market testing, etc). Ensure all systems and services are stable and managed to ABN AMRO Clearing standards and conform to industry best practices. Participate on a team roster to provide support outside business hours (if applicable).


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Local and Regional Focus:

Providing analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance for new and existing applications.

  • Business analysis to gather requirements.
  • Functional documentation.
  • Java/Perl/Python.
  • Linux/Unix Shell scripting.
  • UAT testing.
  • Jira tracking.
  • Git/CVS source code management.
  • Jenkins/Bamboo deployments.
  • Agile sprint management.


Help local, regional and global business users to solve their everyday queries related to locally developed applications and third-party applications.

  • Incident monitoring and response.
  • Maintenance and enhancement of monitoring tools.
  • Investigation/troubleshooting.
  • Propose fixes / workarounds to resolve production issues.
  • Implement said fixes as required.
  • Follow up with software vendors to implement patches, fixes and upgrades or provide data for troubleshooting issues.


Work with project teams at design phase, UAT stages and complete handover upon project completion.

  • Ensure business requirements are in-line with IT standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and propose fixes and enhancements.
  • Participate in UAT testing and ensure testing is comprehensive.
  • Review the documentations and propose enhancements.
  • Assist in the handover sessions.


Support Hours.

  • On call support and weekend work as required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE


  • At least 3 years’ experience working as a Java Developer/Python Developer.
  • Experience in IT services and support is preferred.
  • Experience in finance industry such as banking, stock broking or wholesale finance is preferred.
  • IT related University degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with Java/Python/Perl.
  • Experience with GIT, Bamboo and CVS.
  • Experience with Linux operating system.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, Iterative etc.
  • Knowledge of IT systems including but not limited to Linux/Unix systems, Windows systems, storage systems and basic networking components.
  • Knowledge of methods and tools for application lifecycle, software engineering, test management and IT.
