- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring.
- Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and the chef's instructions.
- Assist the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section (such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, or grill).
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures (such as proper storage, labeling, and temperature control).
- Keep the workstation clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Monitor ingredient stock and report shortages or waste.
- Receive and store deliveries according to kitchen procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Help train or guide junior staff such as Commis 2 or kitchen helpers when required.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
