Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to analyse business requirements, design and develop enterprise applications, and ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of business-critical systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in Java-based technologies, web application development, database design, and system integration, along with excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and translate business and user requirements into detailed functional and technical application specifications to guide development
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise and web-based applications, ensuring robust database design and seamless system integration
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with development standards, quality assurance protocols, and project timelines
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines and quality expectations
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges and optimize application performance
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and solutions

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems analysis, application design (including database design), development, implementation, and quality assurance
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, project management, and vendor management skills
• Ability to work independently to elicit user requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages and web technologies including Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and AJAX
• Experience with frameworks and libraries such as Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Web), Angular/AngularJS, React, Node.js, Hibernate, JPA, JSF, PrimeFaces, Oracle ADF, Struts, and SCA
• Knowledge of web services and integration technologies including REST, SOAP, WSRP, IBM MQ, SOA, and rules engines
• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, and DB2
• Experience with application servers including JBoss/WildFly, WebLogic, and WebSphere
• Skilled in development tools and IDEs like Eclipse, JDeveloper, NetBeans, and Web IDE
• Understanding of platforms and operating systems including AWS, Linux, Oracle Solaris, Unix, and Windows
• Additional knowledge of Apache Spark, responsive web design, enterprise application architecture, and messaging systems

Other Information

• Employment type: Contract - 24 months (renewable)
• Location: Novena, Singapore
• Working Hours: 8:30AM to 6:00PM (Mon-Fri)
• Salary: $6000 - 8000 per month (no bonus)
• Working Arrangement: Full Onsite/Hybrid
