Job Summary:
To handle customer service functions and customs declaration activities efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation, timely submission to Customs (Kastam) and smooth coordination with internal teams and external parties to support end-to-end logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Open job file (CROSS BORDER TRUCKING – Import/Export).
- Cross Border Trucking: Handle booking communication between customer and trucker, prepare customs paper submission and follow up with customer directly on Duty confirmation and payment.
- Monitor trucking arrangement for both Export/Import between trucker and customer, prepare Pick Up Instruction and Proof of Delivery, prepare billing to customer & Close Job Files.
- Customs Documentation: Prepare, verify, and process customs forms, specifically K1, K2, K3, K4, K8, K9, ZB1, and ZB2.
- EDI Submission: Submit declarations via the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system (e.g., ALDEC, SEALNET or SMK - my-CIEDS systems).
- Tariff Code Identification: Identify and apply the correct Customs Tariff Code (HS Code) for imported/exported items and manage cheque payment records.
- Compliance & Licensing: Ensure all declarations comply with local customs laws, MIDA, and MITI regulations and safe-keeping all exemption cargo records.
- Liaison: Coordinate with Royal Malaysian Customs Department, port authorities, and logistics partners to resolve clearance issues.
- Monitor and follow up on documents based on INCOTERM/Customs Procedure.
- Prepare shipment/delivery documentation thru SYSFreight system.
- Check the Port’s system to validate the Port opening and closing time.
- Coordinate with vendor/agent for timely collect/delivery arrangement from/to customer.
- Follow up with Customer/Carrier/Co-loader/agent if Cargo damaged upon shipment/delivery.
- Prepare customs form (Aldec) & ZB declaration (PCOP/FZIPS).
- Participate in Month End Closing Report and strictly ensure job files are closed in proper and timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate superior.Job Requirements.
Requirements:
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, or customs declaration.
- Experience handling customs declaration for JB port / airport is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- High knowledge of customs procedures, HS codes, and declaration systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Team player with a responsible and proactive attitude.
Language
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
Working Conditions
