Requirements
- Possess SPM qualification with a valid Boilerman Certificate Grade I or II issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably with hands-on knowledge in the maintenance and upkeep of steam boilers.
- Knowledge in boiler maintenance, cooling tower systems, and related equipment.
- Welding skills will be an added advantage.
- Must be willing to work on a rotating shift schedule.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive in planning and implementing strategies to minimize downtime for the boiler system and cooling tower facilities.
- Oversee daily operations of the boiler and cooling tower, including routine inspections and regeneration of the water softener system.
- Perform daily and scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring all findings are properly recorded in the maintenance logbook.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as repair works on boilers, air compressors, and related systems in accordance with supplier guidelines.
- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair works for boilers and plumbing systems.
- Monitor and record daily utility consumption (diesel, gas, water) and chemical dosing for both the boiler and cooling tower to manage operational costs.
- Ensure all operations comply with Regulations 36 and 38 of the Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations, 1978.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the company’s management.
