Equity Trading Rapid Application Developer (RAD)
The organisation is seeking an Equity Rapid Application Developer to join its Asia RAD team, focused on quickly delivering technical solutions to GDM trading desks and supporting short-to-medium-term business goals. In this role, you’ll contribute to the broader digital transformation agenda while building and enhancing resilient tools for Front Office teams in Asia. Your work will also help consolidate and strengthen the FO technical environment through collaboration across Asia and a central team.
Role Overview:
As part of the Asia RAD team, you will help translate Front Office needs into automated, reliable applications—managing delivery from requirements through production support while providing urgent first-line assistance to keep trading operations running smoothly.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Advanced proficiency in Python and C# for webservice APIs and back-end software development
- Advanced proficiency in React.js and JavaScript for front-end development
- Background in VBA Excel, with the ability to read and translate algorithms into modern tech stacks
- Basic financial market and instrument knowledge (Stocks and related instruments)
- Ability to articulate technical concepts succinctly to non-technical audiences
- Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously from demanding users
- Understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible)
- Knowledge of container and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience integrating AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot into daily development work
- English proficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Technical SME by engaging closely with Equity Traders and Sales in Hong Kong to understand day-to-day needs and business development plans
- Proactively propose automation solutions and enhancements to existing tools and processes to improve efficiency
- Manage the full IT delivery lifecycle, including solution design and implementation, and ensure production live support using IT best practices
- Provide FO first-line support by responding to urgent business support requests in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Asia peers and a central team to consolidate the Front Office technical environment into a simple, cohesive and efficient platform
Requirements:
- Basic financial market and instrument knowledge, including Stock, Indices, Option, Future, Swap, Bond
- Basic understanding of traditional Equity Global Market business and Risk Management concepts and P&L calculation
- Basic understanding of the financial product lifecycle and associated cashflows
- Degree preferably in Computer Science
- Advanced proficiency in Python and C# (back-end/webservice APIs)
- Advanced proficiency in React.js and JavaScript (front-end development)
- Background in VBA Excel
- English required
- On-site working environment
Nice to Have (Optional):
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
