What The Role Is
As an enforcement officer, you will be on the front lines of maintaining URA’s regulatory standards. This is a dynamic role where you are responsible for ensuring compliance with URA’s regulations through ground inspections, public engagement, and the management of enforcement workflows.
What You Will Be Working On
Site Inspections: Conduct field inspections and investigations to identify and document evidence of regulatory breaches, along with interviewing persons acquainted with the case.
Engagement & Education: Engage with homeowners and businesses, where needed, to explain rules and regulations.
Enforcement Action: Execute statutory powers, including the serving of formal notices to secure compliance with regulations.
Appeals Management: Review and assess appeals, providing recommendations based on a balanced and calibrated approach.
Conflict Resolution: Manage challenging face-to-face interactions with members of the public, utilising de-escalation techniques while maintaining professional standing.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a resilient individual who can navigate complex situations, apply regulations firmly but fairly, and communicate clearly with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- A degree in civil/structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, building or such other relevant field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Prior experience in enforcement/investigation work is an advantage
- Eye for detail, self-driven and able to multi-task in managing operational caseload
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good analytical, writing and presentation skills
- Able to work independently as well as in a team
The successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance, with continuation subject to further assessments and considerations.
